While the University of Dayton has the Dayton 6th group to help attract and retain players, there’s not as much money flowing into Wright State for its athletic department. For the Raiders and other smaller programs, it’s still a bit old school: finding the right student athletes who are not chasing dollar signs.

Ever since, players have been saying “show me the money” with NIL deals hitting six or seven figures. The University of Dayton was just one of hundreds of schools across the nation thrown into the deep end, with little guidance from the NCAA or government.
