On Monday, the Police Department identified the victim as Marco Alfonso Sosa, 32. According to a press release from the department, officers responded to a report of two people shot at 85 E. Newton St. in the city’s South End just before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. One victim, later identified as Sosa, was pronounced dead at the scene.
