Biography

With a strong background in writing, archival management, historical research, and cultural heritage management, I take pride in my extensive record of service to historical organizations, museums, and institutions of higher learning. After many years of working as a public and academic librarian, academic advisor, and adjunct faculty member, I presently consult with historical organizations and write occasional history articles for The Gabber (Gulfport, Fla.) and other publications. Between 1996 and 2017, I taught more than 50 sections face-to-face and directed studies undergraduate courses in U.S. history, Florida history, and research strategies in the Humanities. Between 2000 and 2017, I also taught a selected topics course in Archival Management and offered numerous graduate-level fieldwork opportunities for a university's School of Information. With experience in traditional and digital archiving, historical research, bibliography, oral history, scholarship in Florida history and culture, and a strong interest in related disciplines, I have assiduously sought to preserve, promote, and enhance our documentary heritage through my professional assigned duties, volunteer activities, and community outreach. Today, I share important stories about Florida and American history with readers.
