Editor-in-chief, Narrateur: Reflections on Caring

Biography

I have an awesome life as a science and medical writer. I worked on the brain beat at Newsday for 25 years and now write for Neurology Today. I am also editor-in-chief of an art & literary journal -- Narrateur: Reflections on Caring -- published by Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, where I am an assistant professor of science education. I am an Atlantic Fellow at the Global Brain Health Institute, a collaborative program with UCSF and Trinity College-Dublin. I have published two books -- the Edgar award winning The Death of Innocents and a science book on deep brain stimulation. I now live in Boise, Idaho, where you will find me continuing to do the things I love. My expertise is in neuroscience.
