Anderson County Judge Carey McKinney had issued a seven-day burn ban on Thursday, Oct. 3 and asked the court to consider extending the order. “The burn index Thursday, in some parts of the county, was 670 and in the northern parts of the county it was 729,” McKinney said. “Today it’s 681 as an average and a maximum of 735, so it’s gone up.
