The Brooklyn Rail is an independent, non-profit publication established in October 2000. It originated from a 1998 initiative that began as a weekly broadsheet for New York City commuters. The publication serves as a multidisciplinary forum for arts, culture, and politics, focusing on critical discourse and creative expression. The Brooklyn Rail publishes ten times a year, featuring a variety of content including essays, interviews, poetry, fiction, and criticism related to visual arts, music, film, theater, and politics. It is co-founded by Joe Maggio, Christian Viveros-Fauné, Theodore Hamm, and Patrick Walsh, with Phong Bui playing a key role as publisher. In addition to its print journal, The Brooklyn Rail collaborates on books, including *Tell Me Something Good*, which compiles interviews and portraits by Phong Bui.
