Praise & Worship Lutheran Church will be hosting the hunt at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, on church property at 9138 East State Highway 76 between Silver Dollar City and Stonebridge Village. Children of all ages are welcome to attend. In addition kids will have a variety of treats, stickers, small toys, and activities.

  • Write-in candidates take wins in area elections

    By Jason Wert Verified| Branson Tri-Lakes News Verified In many elections the write-in votes are just ways for protesting the candidates on the ballot and usually do not result in someone taking the win. However, for several Ozarks communities in their 2025 Municipal Elections, the write-in candidates will bring changes to city halls. The biggest write-in upset came in Reeds Spring, where incumbent mayor Jimmy Leach was handily defeated by write-in candidate Barbara Hoke, 110-32.

  • Scammer of Taney County victim sentenced to federal prison

    By Jason Wert Verified| Branson Tri-Lakes News Verified A Georgia man who tried to pull a romance scam in Taney County will be spending the next two years in federal prison. Badetito Obafemi, 42, pled guilty in April 2024 to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. He admitted in court to being part of a romance scam, which targeted victims in Taney County along with communities in Minnesota and New Jersey, from June 2016 through March 2018.
