The motion, put forward by Councillors Dale Bass and Bill Sarai, reflects a statement from the Premier which calls for the creation of involuntary care centres for people living with mental health and addiction issues throughout the province and to create these facilities within correctional centres in the province.

  • Kamloops police seek info on Columbia St motel stabbing

    By Jeff Andreas, Drew Ferreira Verified| CINL (Ashcroft, BC) Verified On Monday evening, Kamloops RCMP officers responded to a Sahali motel after a man went to the hospital with stab wounds. On April 14, 2025, around 5:45, police went to Royal Inland Hospital in response to the report. It was there that they discovered a victim who had allegedly been assaulted with a weapon. The incident had occurred in the 500-block of Columbia Street West.
