By Jeff Larson| Appeal-Democrat Verified Senior Brandon Pelechowicz shut down the Eagles of Vista del Lago late Tuesday over five innings for a run-rule 11-0 win to advance into the championship of the inaugural 12-team NorCal Classic Spring Break Tournament hosted by Yuba City High’s varsity baseball program. Pelechowicz allowed just four hits, while walking three and collecting a pair of strikeouts to earn the win.

By Jeff Larson| Appeal-Democrat Verified The Y-S area struggled out of the gate during day one of the three-day 12-team NorCal Classic Spring Break Tournament hosted by Yuba City High’s varsity baseball program. River Valley (2-16) opened with a 4-0 loss to D-I McClatchy, while Marysville (4-15-1) was run-ruled by D-I Folsom, 15-0 during pool play of the four-venue tournament. Teams will be seeded in three separate brackets starting Tuesday, with the championship scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Field in Marysville.
