If you have ever wanted to share our county’s history with your friends and family, this is the weekend to do it. The theme for this year’s history weekend is “Beaver County: Then and Now.” Each event participant will have special displays in line with that theme, and as always with our historical organizations, you can expect first-class exhibits.

In the early 1800s, the steam-powered printing press helped abolitionists to spread the word to all corners of the country. By 1835, the Anti-Slavery Society distributed more than 1 million pieces of literature.
