Earlier this month, council directed the law director to draft legislation appointing Siclair to the position, effective April 28. On Monday, council approved the appointment under the suspension of rules requiring three readings and as an emergency, so it goes into effect immediately rather than in 30 days. Current City Manager J. Andrew Small previously announced his retirement May 2.

The board of education recently approved an agreement with ParentSquare Inc. in the amount of $8,550. Technology Director Jacob Gebers explained the district currently utilizes Remind, which was purchased by ParentSquare. “They’ve kind of pushed people away from Remind into their own product, so we will be switching to ParentSquare,” Gebers said.
