It’s a significant symbolic moment. While she journaled a lot after the Yellowjackets’ plane crashed in the Canadian wilderness in 1996 and left the survivors stranded for 19 months, we’ve never seen her do it as an adult. “I’ve tried for years to remember what happened out there, to understand why it seemed like I couldn’t remember so much of it,” she narrates.
