Jeniffer Solis is a general assignment reporter with the Nevada Current. Since starting her career as a full-time journalist four years ago, she’s won a first place award from the Nevada Press Association for Feature Writing, and contributed to election coverage that won a first place staff award from the Society of Professional Journalists — Las Vegas. She is also currently a 2023 University of Rhode Island Metcalf Fellow. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a degree in Journalism and Media Studies in December 2017. Earlier this month, the Esmeralda County Board of Commissioners approved a development agreement with Ioneer that will provide the county with at least $5 million in funding for emergency services and more than $10 million for road improvements and maintenance.
