By Jennifer Dorsey| Jackson Hole News & Guide Verified Today is the last day for free Christmas tree disposal through the “Don’t Trash Your Tree: Compost it for Free” program. Christmas trees stripped of all ornamentation can be dropped off today at no cost at the rodeo grounds or the Trash Transfer Station. Trees will be composted, thanks to a partnership between Terra Firma Organics, the Town of Jackson, and Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling’s Road to Zero Waste, a press release said.
By Jennifer Dorsey| Jackson Hole News & Guide Verified Teton County has reminded the public that all outdoor string lighting, including decorative and holiday lights, should be turned off by now. The county’s land development regulations allow string lighting on buildings, signs, trees and other vegetation only between Nov. 15 and Jan. 10. That restriction does not apply within the limits of the Town of Jackson. In town, lighting is allowed between Nov. 1 and April 15, with some exceptions, such as Town Square.
