Biography

Jennifer Koons is an international journalist, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting grantee, and the director of Medill's National Security Reporting Project. She has reported from and traveled extensively throughout the Middle East and Horn of Africa with a focus on global security and the humanitarian implications of migration, political participation, corruption and women's health. Previously, she wrote and oversaw coverage of global affairs, national security and intelligence issues for the Economist's CQ. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Salon, Huffington Post, and Foreign Policy, among other publications. She's an adjunct lecturer for Northwestern graduate students specializing in politics and national security and previously taught undergraduate journalism students at Northwestern's campus in Doha, Qatar.
