Biography

I am a student journalist currently studying journalism and statistics at the University of Southern California. I hail from Washington, D.C., and am a lifelong journalist, photographer, Yankees fan and bagel enthusiast. In high school, I interned for the News Media Alliance and recieved my first exposure to the Local News Crisis. Since then I have been passionate about resolving the crisis and revitalizing local news however we can. In my senior year, I pursued a year-long project surrounding the Local News Crisis which culminated in a 18-page research paper and Instagram awareness campaign (all of which can be viewed at https://mustsavelocalnews.wixsite.com/website). It was also in high school that I developed an interest in statistics and data journalism. In my career, I plan to use both of these interests. Over the summer, I am with NBC News as a Digital Platforms Intern. I just concluded a yearling stint with the Times Media Group as an intern and then Freelance Writer. Last year I concluded five semesters at the Daily Trojan - most recently as their Data Editor.
