By Mac Watson, Jessi Entel| Big Horn Radio Network@ The Cody Volunteer Fire Department held an open house to cap off Fire Prevention Week on Saturday. Many people, including scores of children, checked out the equipment, talked with firefighters, and were instructed about to keep residents safe when it comes to cooking in the home. There was also a demonstration of two rooms of a home, one with a fire suppression kit in it, the other without. People were amazed at how quickly the fire spread in the room without fire suppression.
By Mac Watson, Jessi Entel| Big Horn Radio Network@ Parts of Park County got over 6 inches of snow as a weather system makes it’s way from the Pacific Northwest all the way across the state. Meteorologist Don Day said it would be “the first winter storm of the season” as places at higher elevations like Wapiti and Yellowstone got significant snowfall. Cody was spared the white stuff, but had over a half-inch of rain accumulate, making downtown wet and soggy, filling up gullies and keeping gutters busy with runoff.
