I am currently the education reporter for The Commercial Dispatch and co-founder of Not Your Papa's Hockey. I have prior print journalism experience as the managing editor for Starkville Daily News and Daily Times Leader and as the opinion editor for The Reflector, the Mississippi State University student newspaper. I served as a social media intern at the ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut, in 2017. I graduated cum laude from MSU in 2018 with a degree in communication and a concentration in public relations. I was an original member of Latino Student Association and was the volunteer general manager of the MSU ice hockey club sports team.

By Jessica Lindsey Verified, Abigail Rochester| The Commercial Dispatch Verified STARKVILLE — A former Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District teacher has been indicted in Georgia on 21 federal child pornography charges. Michael Dendy, 32, was indicted Tuesday on five counts of production, seven counts of distribution, eight counts of receipt and one count of possession of child pornography. The indictment notes the charges involve 16 minors. Dendy was arrested Jan. 20 by Washington County (Georgia) Sheriff’s Office and was denied bond.

The recommendation was given to the board by Ellis, who said having someone who knows the district and community will be beneficial to him.
