On Tuesday, the Charleston City Council unanimously authorized the $375,000 settlement for former Charleston Police Officer Chelsea McCoy’s lawsuit. Chelsea McCoy filed the lawsuit on March 15, 2024, naming the City of Charleston, the Charleston Police Department, James “Tyke” Hunt and Richie Baseford as defendants.
