By Jessie Wagoner| Emporia Gazette Verified Recently there have been a number of posts on social media about people finding rats in random locations around Emporia. These rats were at one time pets before their owners grew tired of them and dumped them, leaving them to fend tor themselves and possibly becoming a nuisance. L&L Pets owner, Jason Crumb, wasn’t terribly surprised to see the posts as he himself has stumbled across abandoned rats.
By Jessie Wagoner| Emporia Gazette Verified Art lovers flocked to downtown Emporia Friday evening for Emporia First Friday's April Art Walk. Sam Banks, who creates detailed, miniature felted sculptures, was the featured artist for this month. Her work was on display at L&L Pets, April’s Presenting Venue. With 17 stops on the walk, there was plenty of art for walkers to enjoy. The Axe Shedd had art by Allyson Maldonado, and the Sacred Leaf featured Jayden Winsel.
