Jesus Martinez is a multi-skilled journalist and weekend new anchor at CBS19. Originally from Ferris, Texas, Jesus joined the team in June 2022 after graduating from Sam Houston State University (Eat ‘Em Up Kats) with a B.A. in Mass Communications with a concentration in Multiplatform Journalism and a minor in Spanish! While at SHSU, Jesus anchored and reported for the school’s student-led news broadcast, Channel 7 News. He also won an award for Best Hard News Story at SHSU’s Heatwave Media & Film Festival. In addition, Jesus was involved in many aspects of college from being an official university ambassador to the President’s Office to a Welcome Week Leader for incoming freshmen. Off-air, Jesus likes to take quick runs at local parks, so if you see him, make sure to say "hi!"
