• Elections: CCP hosts last-day, last-ditch voter registration drive

As students were returning to campus Monday morning at the Community College of Philadelphia, the question was not, “How was your weekend?” but instead, “Are you registered to vote?”  Students who answered yes were given a small round of applause, a free frisbee, and maybe even a cookie. Yes, they were actually handing out freshly baked cookies — hot from the oven.

  By Jillian Bauer-Reese| The Citizen (Rockdale and Newton Counties) Verified On Thursday, like every American journalist - and many Americans period - I waited all day for former President Donald Trump's mug shot. Then my husband finally pointed to the TV and yelled, "Blue Steel!" (the Zoolander resemblance was uncanny). As Trump's feral scowl graced every news platform, I watched an overwhelming and understandable catharsis saturate the nation's top cable news networks, with commentators treating the mug shot as a victory or declaring it justice.
