She fits right in with the modern journalistic mold to always give the other side plenty of opportunity to state their position—unless they happen to have an R behind their name.

Some of my favorite moments of the day are those early minutes on my deck surrounded by the loveliness of our part of the world, the lushness of the stately row of longleaf pine trees standing guard over the pond behind our home, and, perhaps most importantly, the almost eerie quiet before the cacophony of sound as the lawnmowers and leaf blowers arrive with their jarring entrance.
