Biography

I am the editor at The Beverly Review serving the Beverly, Morgan Park and Mt. Greenwood neighrborhoods on the south side of Chicago. I am also the lead writer/editor-in-chief at Chicago Hockey Now, part of the National Hockey Now network. As CHN's lead writer, I work as the primary beat reporter, traveling to home games and covering the Blackhawks' organization throughout the season. I graduated in May of 2023 from Loyola University Chicago. I have a degree in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in Finance.

According to the Chicago Police Department (CPD) Department of News Affairs, on April 15 officers responded to a call of a person shot on the 1000 block of W. 115th St. at 8:11 p.m.Upon arrival, police said officers discovered a 19-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. According to CPD, the victim was approached by an unknown suspect who opened fire, hitting him several times.

  • Popular USPS carrier to retire

    By Jim Lynch Verified| The Beverly Review Verified A longtime mail carrier serving Morgan Park is set to retire later this month, and residents have been showing their appreciation for his years in the community. Larry LaPorte, 64, has worked as a United States Postal Service (USPS) mail carrier out of the Mt. Greenwood station for over 40 years. His current route includes Western to California avenues from 110th to 115th streets, which has recently been lined with signs wishing him well in retirement.
