• Moorhead Fire Department responds to 2 fires within 30 minutes

The first call was to a house in the 1700 block of 5th Street S. shortly before 7:30 p.m. Heavy smoke was coming from the back of the home and flames had spread up the siding to the soffit. Firefighters had the fire out before it spread to the attic. No one was hurt in the fire.

• Military helicopter crew reports laser strike over Fargo

The Federal Aviation Administration tells KVRR Local News that the incident happened around 9 p.m. No injuries were reported. The FAA says local authorities have been notified and will investigate. People who shine lasers at aircraft face fines of up to $11,000 per violation and up to $30,800 for multiple laser incidents.
