Biography
Jim Osman is an 18-time Emmy Award winning political and investigative reporter and experienced Washington Bureau Chief. He is also a general news correspondent who believes in holding the people in power accountable and telling stories of value and importance to viewers. Jim has reported around the world on important issues including the forced marriages of child brides and the outsourcing of taxpayer funded jobs to India. Jim, also, witnessed a lethal injection of a condemned man in Delaware and then exposed how the government had botched the combination of drugs it injected into the prisoner. Raised by a grandfather who aspired to be a lawyer but didn't go to college, Jim was reminded at an early age that those who are given opportunities have major responsibilities. Jim graduated from the prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University the summer after interning at NBC's "Meet the Press" with the late Tim Russert. His career led him from his first reporting job at WILM Newsradio in Wilmington, Delaware where -- at 22 years old -- he had the daunting task of asking the tough questions of then U-S- Senator Joe Biden to six years as the lead investigative reporter at a major market television station - KYW-TV in Philadelphia. In 2012, Osman moved to Washington, D.C. to use his skills as a political reporter to cover Capitol Hill and the White House at Scripps Media. In 2015, Media General Television hired Osman as its Washington Bureau Chief leading a bureau covering political news for 71 U.S. television stations. Osman is a native of Philadelphia and resides in the NOMA section of Washington, D.C.
