Biography
I am a musician and writer from Hobart, Tasmania. After a long performing career in London I have relocated to Hobart in search of a better life balance. I play the viola with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, have a small private teaching studio, and devote the remainder of my time to writing. My great love is creative nonfiction, but I also write fiction, memoir, classical music journalism and reviews. I have almost completed my book, 'That Cancer Sh*t', a collection of reflections arising from living with cancer, which will be published later this year. Future plans include a series of interviews with renowned pedagogue, Robin Wilson, a collection of pieces concerning living with a negative body image, and an in-depth article about Australian musicians' responses to the pandemic.

Sometimes an article beckoned, and I read it. Other times not. But the more I read, the more offerings appeared on my feed. I started to take notice. I was right at the beginning of my writing life. Thinking for the first time, I’d like to be a writer. I started taking courses. One memorable morning at Hadley’s Hotel I was in a workshop with Benjamin Law, a prominent Australian journalist.
