Founder and Editor in Chief, Smoked BBQ Source

Biography

Hi, I’m Joe Clements, the founder, and Editor-in-Chief of Smoked BBQ Source. I eat, sleep, and breathe barbecue. I created Smoked BBQ Source back in 2016 after inherting an old Weber Kettle grill. After trying to smoke a brisket for the first time and realizing I had no idea what I was doing, I set out to learn everything I could about the art of ‘low and slow’ barbecue. I decided to create Smoked BBQ Source, so I could document everything I learned about barbecue. Over the years we’ve been lucky enough to grow, eventually becoming one of the largest barbecue and grilling websites on the web. I’m lucky to be joined by a team of like-minded pitmasters who share my goal of creating the most useful resource for amateur pitmasters and backyard cooks in the world.

Confession time: When I’m smoking ribs or pulled pork, I still reach for a store-bought rub now and then. But after years of testing and tweaking, this homemade pork rub has earned its spot as my go-to. It’s sweet, smoky, and perfectly balanced with just the right touch of heat, made entirely from pantry staples and easy to tweak to your taste.
