By Joe Livernois| Voices of Monterey Bay@ | BOOKSBy Joe LivernoisRitchie Lovejoy wrote a novel more than 80 years ago, and he was able to do it because of John Steinbeck’s generous faith in his talent. Its 638 typewritten pages are bound crudely with two bolts and protected by a hard cover that Lovejoy himself designed.
