Such was life in the sunny but cold and windy Shipwreck Invitational on April 11, the sixth edition of the meet at Midview.
By Joe Magill Verified| The Morning Journal (Lorain, OH) Verified To the surprise of everybody and the disappointment of nobody, the conditions at the Avon Lake Invitational were not nearly as bad as advertised. In fact, for a meet that is notorious for poor weather, this year’s edition, held on April 5 at Avon Lake High School, was blessed with relatively benign conditions. Sure, the temperatures dropped from the low 60s to the upper 40s by meet’s end, and a misty blanket hung over the stadium for the final few events.
