A speed and red light camera was introduced on the A38 by police in August 2023 due to a "worrying" amount of speeding offences. In the 20 months since, at least 41,675 motorists have been punished for travelling in excess of the 30mph limit, figures obtained through a Freedom of Information (FoI) request show.
