The vehicle collision happened around 5:30 a.m. at Route 291 in River Bend. MSHP officers said a 59-year-old Kansas City man was driving an eastbound 2017 Ford Focus on the freeway when he failed to yield to a westbound 2018 Ford F-150 driven by a 59-year-old Lexington man. As a result, the Lexington driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
