I was born and raised in Indonesia, although I spent some of my formative years studying in Melbourne, Australia. Coming from an ethnic minority background (Chinese Indonesian) has influenced the way I think and write. While this is not my whole identity, it has made me aware of the other-ness that I have felt growing up and fitting into Indonesian society.
