Biography

Jean Monnet Chair of European Integration and Director of the Maynooth Centre for European and Eurasian Studies at Maynooth University, Ireland, O Brennan is the author of 3 books on EU Enlargement policy, and dozens of academic articles in peer reviewed international journals. He is an expert on EU integration, Ireland’s relationship with the EU, Brexit and U.K.-Ieish relations. Previously Lecturer in European Politics at University of Limerick, Irish Research Council Post-Doctoral Fellow, and Visiting Fellow at the European Institute for Security Studies, Paris. A frequent contributor to national and international media on EU affairs, including BBC Radio, RTÉ Radio and television, Virgin TV, UTV, Sky, Bloomberg, Reuters, The Guardian, Open Democracy and Al Jazeera.
