This will keep Northern Illinois dry and seasonable for Saturday afternoon, with highs near 60°. Rain showers will be possible closer to the front well to our South. The moisture surges back North Sunday morning, allowing for at least scattered showers to push through the area during the morning and early afternoon on Sunday.

The warning from the National Weather Service read: “A DESTRUCTIVE severe thunderstorm was located near Edgerton moving east at 65 mph. HAZARD… Baseball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.”It is not very often that severe thunderstorm warnings trigger the emergency alert on cell phones, but baseball sized hail is one of those criteria.
