Melvin’s family members, former teachers and colleagues all came together at Columbia High School to surprise him with a celebration fit for a hometown hero. It’s safe to say Craig was shocked. Standing right beside WIS’ very own Rick Henry was Melvin’s middle school principal, Dr. Carlos Smith.

(WIS) - The South Carolina Department of Transport announced the I-26 eastbound ramp to Bush River Road will closed permanently on Wednesday. This is part of a three-step plan to permanently close the interchange. Drivers will be rerouted to the new on and off-ramps at Colonial Life Boulevard. Step one begins Wednesday night at 9 p.m. when crews will permanently close the off-ramp. Step two will begin on Sunday with the closure of I-26 on-ramps.
