Two officers were called to Albert Street in Footscray about 9pm last night to reports of a man armed with a knife. Victoria Police said they found him and told him to drop the weapon. "The man then charged towards the police, still armed with the knife, and was shot by both officers," police said, in a statement. Paramedics treated the man but he died at the scene.
