Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Baushuan Ger said "Taiwan’s flagship New Southbound Policy to engage our 18 partner countries in Southeast Asia and South Asia, India is our priority. With our joint efforts, the bilateral trade between Taiwan and India increased from USD 5 billion in 2016 to USD 8.2 billion in 2023. India stands as Taiwan’s 16th largest trading partner.

Seven of us -- five adults and two kids - were on a family trip to the former member of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) that became independent following the Union's dissolution in 1991. It is now one of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
