Its stories come to life at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria, not far from where the river meets the Pacific and completes its 1,243-mile journey through the Northwest. First opened in 1963, the museum moved to its current location along Astoria’s riverfront in 1982, and it’s been growing and improving ever since.

Russian Art Focus is a new online publication founded by Inna Bazhenova (The Art Newspaper) and Dmitry Aksenov (the Aksenov Family Foundation) and created by a team of native English-speaking journalists, critics and researchers. Their mission is to provide a well reported, timely overview of the Russian art scene to foreign audiences in English and focus on what is happening in Russian art today. This publication, started in November 2018 as a free monthly newsletter, includes museum news, reviews of exhibitions and art fairs, interviews with the main players, profiles of artists, recommended events, regional news, and special stories covering the background to the Russian art scene.
