Biography

Josh grew up on the campus of Stanford University, where his father taught economics, and his mother was curator of textiles at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. He attended Boston University, before coming to Los Angeles to pursue screenwriting. He's worked mostly in the feature world, concentrating primarily on comedy. His R-rated comedy feature screenplay, DISCIPLES OF DARRYL, sold to Intrepid Pictures. Another R-rated comedy feature, COUGAR SAFARI, was optioned by Spitfire Pictures. A third, CRASH WEDNESDAY, made The Hit List. His family comedy, FIXING THE FLETCHERS, was optioned by Southpaw Entertainment in 2018. After turning his attention to television, his drama pilot, BETTER, was purchased by SF Studios and an eight-episode Season One is being produced overseas for Scandinavian streaming service Viaplay. In 2018, he wrote freelance columns on his relationship with his then-fiancée (now wife), one of which was published in the Los Angeles Times, another which was published in the New York Times – his second time being published in that newspaper. He also writes a weekly football column for SB Nation, one of the world’s largest and most trafficked sports blogs.
