Food Business News

Food safety is a global concern and now it has become a popular topic everywhere. Everyday, we hear news about food safety issues, food adulteration, food born illnesses and related food safety violation in the country. Food is directly impacted not only for issues, but also for human health and well being. Health conscious society in today's environment talks about food that they consume and their nutritional impact. Queues are quite lengthy at health check up desk in most private hospitals. Most of private hospitals have started their own health check up unit separately. Food waste is also a global issue that every country, every government and every population face today. Hence, required knowledge gap related to these issues to be addressed in some or other ways. To bridge the knowledge gap among these populations, there should be an ideal platform to communicate good/bad practices, best ways and means to address above issues and make people knowledgeable of what they do. Best solution, that this gap can be accomplished for an informed decision to address all of these needs, will be introduced in a form of a magazine in food business. Based on the survey carried out among a cross section of food professionals, it was found that they are interested in reading and would like to spend on a resource that they acquire information related to food. Therefore, this magazine would entail food business related information for interested food business professionals across Sri Lanka and worldwide.
