Biography
I've worked in games media since 2009, mostly as a freelance contributor specializing in news and reviews. I was with Japanator and Destructoid in their independent heydays, contributing and editing them through two full changes of ownership and multiple turnovers of management. I'm currently working at RPG Site, but am available for freelance contributions. My latest full-time publication was Siliconera, where I served as Interim Editor-in-Chief, then as Senior Staff Writer. Thanks to layoffs, I'm freelance again and seeking remote media work, be it as a full-time position or a side hustle. I love writing about games and Japanese culture, but I'll write about whatever I can.

By Josh Tolentino Verified| RPG Site Verified If 2023 was a weird year for the game industry, 2024 was even weirder. Less kind than ever to the people that make its games, the year was nevertheless packed to the gills with top-tier titles, even while some pundits called it "slow," perhaps speaking more to limitations of perspective than of the actual breadth of choice or options available to folks looking for something new to play. By Josh Tolentino Verified| RPG Site Verified As a series, Dragon Age is best known for allowing players to make "big choices" that alter the state of the world and reflecting that in future work. While the games have changed their approach to that aspect over time, Dragon Age: The Veilguard might represent the cleanest break yet from that tradition.
