(WSMV) - A Clarksville family is calling it a miracle after their dog, Sadie Belle, survived being trapped inside a burning home for nearly an hour during last Thursday night’s severe storms and historic flooding. Tyra Montgomery and her grandparents were home when the power began to flicker, and the smell of smoke crept in. The basement had flooded, and then it caught fire. “We actually saw the flames,” Montgomery said, describing the terrifying moment.

WSMV4′s Joylyn Bukovac spoke with members of Gath Baptist Church in McMinnville. They identified 16-year-old Abygayle Jones as the teen who died in a crash on State Route 56 Wednesday morning. Jones’ younger sister, Gaby, was also in the car. Church members told Bukovac that she was airlifted to a nearby hospital after the crash.
