J.P. Hoornstra is a national baseball writer for Newsweek and covers various topics in sports for The Big Lead. During a 20+year career in sports journalism, I have covered MLB, NHL, NBA, NFL, motor sports, and NCAA football and basketball, among others. I am a member of the BBWAA and a Baseball Hall of Fame voter. I am the author of The 50 Greatest Dodger Games Of All Time, and once recorded a keyboard solo on the same album as two of the original Doors.
