Biography
Are you looking for someone who values professionalism above all else? Look somewhere else; I love the outdoors and anime girls! Above all else, I adore the thrill you get from mountain views, the screaming of reels, campfires, slice-of-life shows, and hearing tsunderes say "baka." And I want others to be moved by those thrills as much as I am, so here I am scribbling away to make that happen. The things I love detest formality, so I welcome relaxed vibes into my writing and work ethic. My professional background is in marine biology and marine conservation, and ironically, it's that background that got me into writing. All the research in the world can't protect the environment as much as a few heartfelt words can. And as I explored the literary side of the outdoors, I soon ended up regularly writing about the other great love in my life: anime. I was a writer at the BGFCN Journal before moving to Reason Outdoors for a two-year stint. Then came a short stint at Anitoons+ (based out of the Philippines), and now I call Anime Corner home.

By JP Kristov| Anime Corner Verified Matsushima, Kurobe, solo traveling, and food aversion were the main takeaways in Zatsu Tabi Episode 2. But with the show settling into a formulaic plot this early on, will it manage to retain its viewer base? I’m tempted to say that, based on travel shows of old, it will. But our attention spans get shorter by the year. So, should the show bank on rejected proposals leading to somewhat spontaneous journeys, it might bode unwell for Chika.
By JP Kristov| Anime Corner Verified Here’s a depressing fact: the more prolonged stress you deal with, the earlier you head to the grave. And with a world filled with stressors, you’re likely experiencing detriments to your physical or mental health. But with therapy being absurdly expensive, what can you do? You can watch Mono (mono) and welcome some tranquility into your life. Because, judging by mono’s first episode, tranquility is what we’re in for.
By JP Kristov| Anime Corner Verified Zatsu Tabi Episode 1 is out, and that’s to be celebrated. It’s the fourth month of 2025, and things are bleak! We’re placing tariffs on penguins. HIDIVE is airing the censored version of Yandere Dark Elf. And if all that wasn’t bad enough, now we have to worry about dire wolves. That’s too much to deal with this early in the year. Humanity needs some comfort. We need an anime that will pat our heads and say “yush, yush” as we cry about life.
