I offer fiveyears of journalism experience, photography and social media proficiency, and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. I also bring a unique perspective as a Filipino immigrant to the United States and Army veteran who deployed to Iraq in 2009. I wrote on Ugandan contractors injured on American bases in Iraq, and the story won “Best Thesis Prize” at Columbia University and was published in The Intercept.
