  • No other measles cases reported at Miami Palmetto Senior High School, say authorities

    By Julia Cooper| Key Biscayne Independent@ No new measles cases have been reported at Miami’s Palmetto Senior High School after one student was diagnosed with the highly contagious disease — Florida’s first such case — say Miami-Dade school and state health officials. Authorities said they are continuing to monitor the school in Pinecrest for any potential outbreak of measles and are advising parents of students who think they may have had contact with the ill student.
