Now I’ve found it, and papers come spilling out: course maps, training logs, race bibs. Down through the strata I go, back through the pandemic with its virtual races, past 2015 when I ran my first half marathon, back and back. There it is: the race bib from my first 5K as a Flagstaff runner. It’s from the 2012 Sedona Marathon event. A few months before that race, I injured a calf muscle.
