  • Fire update: More people likely will be allowed home Thursday morning

    By Justin Pittman Verified| Ellensburg Daily Record Verified Updated 4:30 p.m.: The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office expects to allow more homeowners into areas near the Colockum Tarps Fire at 6 a.m. Thursday. The sheriff's office expects to downgrade evacuations to a level two (meaning people should be prepared to leave) on Colockum Road, Sheep Creek, Trail Creek, Tucker Creek, Secret Canyon to the end of the paved road. These areas will be open to property owners and fire crews only, according to a news release.
