  • Whiteville police investigating roadway shooting

    By Justin Smith| The News Reporter (Whiteville, NC) Verified A person was found shot in a vehicle Sunday morning in Whiteville. The car was one of two involved in a crash just before 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of J.K. Powell Boulevard and Washington Street. Whiteville Police Chief Paul Rockenbach told The News Reporter around 10:45 a.m. that it appeared the victim had been shot on a road near the scene of the wreck but he did not provide a specific location.
